Urine Marking Clinical Study

Our hospital is currently enrolling cats to participate in a pilot clinical study to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of an investigational veterinary product for the management of feline behavioral urine spraying.

Your cat may be eligible for participation if he or she:
  1. Is urinating in the house or screened in porch area, outside of the litter box at least 2 times a week for at least 7 days OR is spraying on vertical surfaces outside of the litter box but in the house or screened in porch at least 2 times a week for at least 7 days.
  2. Is spayed or neutered and is at least 1 year old
  3. Is the only cat in your household spraying urine, and there are no more than 3 cats in your household.
  4. Is housed indoors, with a catio or screened outdoor space.
  5. Is not currently receiving medication to manage pain, anxiety or urine spraying behavior.

Cats that are part of the study will receive at no charge:
  1. 3 evaluations over 5 consecutive weeks ($700 value).
  2. Study medication or placebo ($120 value)
  3. 2 physical examinations ($60 value)
